About Dry Hire

We are a Brisbane based dry hire business with equipment currently deployed in South East Queensland and Central Queensland. Our strategy is to expand throughout Queensland and into other states over time or when the right opportunity presents itself.

Established in 2021 by Nick Harwood following several executive roles in mining services and dry hire companies. Nick has leveraged his extensive networks of contacts while developing the K2 brand. K2 currently has over 25 machines in the rental fleet and continues to acquire new machines to meet new enquiries and existing customer demand.

Our fleet includes Articulated Trucks, Graders, Excavators, Dozers, Water Trucks and Service Trucks. It is designed to meet both the Mining and Civil markets, any machine can be quickly redeployed into a different market or geography.

To minimise downtime and maximize reliability, our equipment is subject to an in-depth pre-hire inspection and is regularly serviced in accordance with OEM standards.

Management Team

K2 is founded by Nick Harwood, a former Partner of a Tier 1 Consulting firm and Orionstone executive / CFO.

Nick has spent a much of his consulting career working with mining services businesses. Since 2015 he has occupied executive roles in the industry on a full time and part time basis.

Throughout those years he has worked with many of the industry’s participants, developing a good understanding of the industry and an extensive network of contacts and supporters. 

General Manager, Lucas Young brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in driving growth and building strong client relationships. His knowledge of earthmoving equipment and his deep understanding of the construction and industrial sectors make him a great fit for K2 Plant Hire.
